Our Founding Pastor, Rick Duncan asked me to share a quote about our youth ministry. I wrote out 3 things.
1. It’s the parents primary responsibility to cultivate obedient and loving hearts in the lives of their children by setting a godly example every day. Parent shouldn’t demand obedience from their children/teens in the same way that wives shouldn’t demand love or a husband demand respect. Instead, out of love for God; parents raise up godly children, husbands love and wives respect.
2. If parents have the primary responsibility, what then is the youth ministries job/function? CVC invests in a pastoral team whose job is to come alongside of you, be resources and encouragement for you while providing opportunities for your teens to build godly friendships with like minded students and learn truths about God in ways that relate to their stage of life.
3. Our whole staff team and volunteers are centered around the goal of assisting parents. We WANT to come alongside of you. We WANT to meet with you and get to know your stories. We WANT to pray for you. Ultimately, our desire is to provide a platform in our ministry to help you launch students out into adulthood who have a foundation built firmly on Jesus Christ that will result in faithfulness for the rest of their lives.
What qoute would you have given about the youth ministry you lead?
