This has been an enjoyable process. I hope it’s been an encouragement to you as well. Hopefully, we’ll see these guys have a better understanding of the book of James after this study. We will try and cover two chapters on Thursday.

James 3:1-18

3:1 Teachers are judged more strictly. Does this include parents?
3:2 Parents will make mistakes. We all know you’re not perfect.
3:3-4 Parents words are powerful and can do a lot of help or harm.
3:5 Even small things parents say can have huge impact. It’s
better not to speak if you can’t speak in love.
3:6 When parents speak poorly, their children will as well.
3:9-11 When a parent praises God and then curses, it confuses
children.
3:13 Parents who live honorably are wise.
3:14 Parents ought never have bitterness/jealousness in their
hearts.
3:16 A jealous parent creates disorder in the home.
3:17 When a parent has a sincere heart, they have God’s wisdom.
Seek heavenly wisdom and not earthly wisdom.
3:18 Peacemaking parents reap righteousness.

What thoughts would you like to share with these high school guys?
